Ford Autonomous Vehicles Becoming a Reality

Self-driving technology is at the forefront of Ford’s vision.

Some people live in constant fear that one day their freedom to operate a motor vehicle will be taken from them by those evil autonomous vehicles. While their fears may be more than slightly irrational, these people won’t have to worry if they buy Ford. Among all of Ford’s exciting developments on the autonomous tech front, the automaker knows that lots of people still want to be in control.

At the same time, the automaker is working hard to make Ford autonomous vehicles a reality. One way in which they are envisioning this happening is through the availability of fleets.

The way this works is that a person can book a car through the already available FordPass mobile app. This “fleet approach” makes autonomous vehicles available to anybody for relatively cheap. Ford is also developing fully autonomous vehicles that can be personally owned.

Ford’s fleet service is already available, and numbers 30 Ford Fusion Hybrids. The automaker plans to expand its service into Michigan, California, and Arizona.

Changes for the New Ford Raptor Include New Engine

2017 Ford F-150 Raptor - Sauk City, WI

The 2017 Ford Raptor is going to be incredible. Will you be in the market for one?

Whether you want to tackle sand dunes or you just want to drive the best looking truck on the road, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is going to get you there. The Raptor takes the best-selling truck for 39 years and, simply put, takes it to a level that can only be described as awesome.

This year Ford has opted for a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 as opposed to the outgoing V8. The result is a Raptor that is both more powerful and more efficient. Ford also equipped the new model with a 10-speed transmission, controllable via paddle shifters.

The latest changes for the new Ford Raptor include some exterior improvements, changes that make it more outdoor capable and give it a more attractively aggressive look. Both the front and rear bumpers have been rounded off a bit, making it less a chance that they can get in the way as you negotiate those dunes.

The new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is 500 pounds lighter this year. Add that to the new engine and you won’t have much need for roads.
