The Performance Pack Level 2 will be offered on the 2018 Mustang GT.
The Ford Mustang is America’s favorite pony car, providing performance and styling at an affordable price for years. Recently, Ford introduced the Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2 to improve performance and design for drivers everywhere. If you’re looking for optimal power and bold styling, the new Performance Pack may be right for you.
According to Ford, the Performance Pack Level 2 will be offered on the 2018 Mustang GT. This package includes things like a low and aggressive stance, improved aerodynamics, a front splitter, rear spoiler, and a specially designed suspension. The MagneRide® suspension is made to be ultra-responsive, even at high speeds, providing improved performance on the track as well as the road.
“A passion to create something special is what really drove this project,” said Tom Barnes, Mustang vehicle engineering manager. “And that really showed in the off-the-clock way we went about doing our work.”
The new Performance Pack also has a new manual transmission for a better response, as well as a more thrilling experience behind the wheel. The Performance Pack Level 2 also has the same features as the Level 1, including a tuned chassis, Brembo™ brakes, and a TORSEN® rear differential, among other things. Three Mustang GT King Editions Built in Limited Numbers
While everybody loves a good Ford Mustang, having one that is unique with more power is even better. That is why Ford joined up with Petty’s Garage to produce three 2016 Ford Mustang GT King Editions.
These special models start with the factory 5.0-liter V8 engine and add a Ford Performance supercharger to add 235 horsepower, for a total of 670 horsepower. But, you can opt for an available level two upgrade that uses a smaller supercharger pulley, to take the total output to 727 horsepower.
In addition to the output upgrades, the Mustangs will feature a cold-air intake, MagnaFlow exhaust, extreme-duty TrakPak Ford Performance halfshafts, a rear axle upgrade, three-way adjustable front and rear sway bars, custom wheels, and some unique Petty’s Garage appearance parts.
“I’ve always liked the look of the Mustang, and the 2016 model gives us a great base car to work with,” said Richard Petty, in a statement. “These new King edition Mustangs are pretty much the way I’d build my own. They are great fun to drive, and have a signature single exhaust. With the new paint on the Premier edition,” he added, “that’s how you know we built it. They look pretty sharp.”
Petty’s Garage, owned by NASCAR legend Richard “The King” Petty, will produce 243 King models, 43 King Premier models, and 14 King Premier convertibles. All models can be ordered through your local Ford dealership.
