Ford Fund Christmas Charity Work Already Underway in Michigan

Ford Funds Christmas

The Ford Motor Company Fund, Ford’s philanthropy arm, has already started to gear up for the holiday season through partnerships with hunger relief organizations and other local charities, bringing meals, gifts, and more to the 650,000 Southeast Michigan residents without adequate food.

Ford Fund Christmas charity work with underprivileged Michiganders has been a major part of Ford’s humanitarian work over the last several years. Ford donates large sums of money every year to hunger relief agencies, totaling $1.5 million this year, but that’s just the beginning.

Ford also organizes the Ford Volunteer Corps, which this year is made up of over 300 Ford employees who will work with Gleaners, Fish & Loaves Food Pantry, and other agencies to prepare meals, deliver food, wrap gifts, put up holiday decorations, and more.

In addition, Ford works with the United Way for Southeast Michigan to launch 20 Ford Mobile Food Pantries that distribute meals to Detroit residents every day, racking up over 7 million meals served since 2010. Ford even has Resource and Engagement Centers in Detroit with their own food pantries, which will host Winter Wonderland events and other services to local families.

Ford’s philanthropy goes back decades. Operation Good Cheer, which was started by Ford employees in 1971, donates Christmas gifts to thousands of Michigan foster children; in 2017, 6,400 kids received gifts thanks to the project.

We’re so proud to be part of the Ford family here at Courtesy Ford.
