Ford may be based in Detroit but that doesn’t mean it isn’t willing to celebrate another city’s events. The Kansas City Royals took home the Major League Baseball championship last year and to celebrate, the automaker is offering a special edition F-150. The Ford F-150 MVP Edition is designed for Royals fans.
This isn’t the first time Ford has celebrates Kansas City’s victory. The Kansas City Royals took home the championship back in 1985 and to celebrate, Ford offered a Ranger MVP Edition. At the request of a fan, the automaker revived the badge for another run. The Ford F-150, built in the Kansas City Assembly Plant since 1957, will boast the badge this time around.
Available in “flame blue” and “Oxford white,” the special edition truck is based on the XLT trim. Limited to a run of 300 units, 60% blue and 40% white, the pickup features polished rocker panels, a spray-in bedliner, and, special badging.
The Kansas City Royals beat the Mets seven to two to take the World Series title. It was the team’s second championship. The Midwest Ford dealers have also renewed their sponsorship deal with the Royals for the 2016 season.
