Pickup Truck Maintenance Tips to Increase Longevity

We at Courtesy Ford want to share these pickup truck maintenance tips to make sure you’re getting the most out of your vehicle for years to come.

Routine Oil Changes

Oil lubricates the different parts of your truck’s engine. This prevents friction from wearing the parts down over time. Old oil can become dirty, gumming up engine components and causing damage. Make sure the engine runs smoothly by routinely having the oil drained and replaced.

Check Fluid Levels

Other fluids besides engine oil are important, too. For example, coolant helps maintain engine temperature, so make sure it’s always full. Also make sure you aren’t losing any brake fluid and that windshield wiper fluid is topped off.

Change Your Air Filter

We recommend that you put a new air filter in your vehicle every 15,000 miles. Keeping clean air moving will help the engine running efficiently and last longer.

Tire Rotation

Keep the tire tread wearing evenly by regularly rotating them. Rotation switches tires around in a particular pattern to help tires and wheels last longer. This should be done every time the oil is changed.

Check Wheel Alignment

In addition to rotating your truck’s tires, you should have a mechanic align the wheels. Trucks are more likely to suffer from misalignment due to their ability to drive over rough roads at high speeds.

Ford F-150 Raptor Named “Best Pickup”

Ford F-150 Raptor

Fords knows what it takes to craft a remarkable pickup truck. That’s why so many of their trucks are bringing home awards. The Ford F-150 Raptor is no exception.

Every year, there are awards distributed at the Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year Mudfest. This event consists of multiple off-road tests and on-road handling tests to analyze vehicles for their ability and control on the road. The drivers of the vehicles in the tests were all part of the Northwest Automotive Press Association, so they were able to judge from firsthand experience.

“The pickup category was extremely tough this year,” said Tuan Huynh, NWAPA Mudfest Event Chair, Northwest Automotive Press Association. “Ford F-150 Raptor won the hearts of our members for its prowess both on-road and off over two days of rigorous testing.”

Because of this, the Ford F-150 Raptor was named the “Best Pickup” of Mudfest. The Raptor has tons to offer when it comes to off-road capabilities, thanks to tires designed specifically for rough roads and its improved suspension control.

If you need convincing that the Ford F-150 Raptor is a winner, then come down to Courtesy Ford of Sauk City today to take it for a spin.
